Mr. Morgan:

As you know, I recently interviewed with SCS, a large Chicago-based company, for a position in their human resources department. This opportunity would enable me to leverage my legal experience in HR issues, my communication skills, and my ability to work as part of a team. Therefore, I would greatly appreciate your recommendation.

SCS is a $100 million consumer products firm that needs additional legal expertise in their HR department. During my interview, I met with the Executive Vice President of HR and several other SCS executives, including the Company’s Chief Counsel.

For this position, SCS is seeking an attorney who has at least three years experience working at a large law firm and has expertise in HR issues. Additionally, the Company has emphasized that this person must possess excellent communication skills and be a team player.

Assuming you’re comfortable providing me a reference, I’ll arrange a conference call between you and Janice Collins, SCS’ Executive Vice President of HR. If there are two or three time slots during the next two weeks that would be convenient for you to speak with Ms. Collins, please let me know. In turn, I’ll inform her of your availability so that she can arrange to call you.

Thanks again for your guidance and support.

Best regards,

Hongyan Wong
