Phillip:

Since you’re at a conference in Tianjin, I’m writing you this note to thank you for recommending me to Andy Peters, the Director of the Finance Department. He wants me to start as Senior Financial Analysis Manager at the end of this month.

In my new position, I’ll manage a team of five professionals and, as such, will be responsible for analyzing all aspects of our company’s performance. Andy views this position as a two-year stint, after which I’d be able to transition into the M&A area.

Of course, as we’ve already discussed, I’ll work closely with you to finish the project in which I’m still engaged. But, even after I finish my responsibilities, I’d be happy to provide any additional assistance you might need.

After you return,  I’d like to invite you to lunch to express my thanks in person. I look forward to seeing you soon.

Best regards,

Dahai
