Dear Mr. Jones:
Professor Roberts suggested that you and I may want to meet. He thinks that the combination of my academic background and work experience may be of interest to you and your Bank.
I hold a B.A. in economics from Zhejiang University. This May, I will graduate with an M.A. in international economics from Stanford University, where I’ve enjoyed several courses with Professor Roberts.
After graduating from college and prior to graduate school, I spent two years working at China Construction Bank in Shanghai, where I progressed from a management trainee to the Manager of the Economics Department. Subsequently, I worked for five years at the Bank of China in New York, where I served as Vice President of Strategy.
I would like to leverage my experience to help a leading financial institution with its global investment portfolio. In this regard, I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to see whether I could add value to your Bank’s efforts. I will followup with your office in a few weeks to schedule an appointment.
I look forward to meeting you.
Best regards,
Richard Shen
